THE MAIN SUBJECTS OF PAINTING
The main subjects of Alexander’s painting are biblical,
mythological and historical motives. Alex Litvinov considers
Michelangelo, Montaigne, Breigel and Durer to be his
teachers in painting.
Among the strong features of painter is clear
and advanced technique. Peculiar lines (artist’s
slant), layering, choice of colors and tints play a
great role in canvases executing.
Fine art is mainly based on visual perception. Unfortunately
in present all knowledge accumulated during centuries
has been lost. Abstract depicting of thoughts has become
fashionable today, and foundations of classical painting
have paled into insignificance, which is inadmissible.
Litvinov revives forgotten antiquity
on his canvases. Using brushes and colors the artist
depicts eternal passions and pains on which the humanity
condemned itself. Here is envy, temptation and fear,
but also gentleness, and caress, pleasure of woman and
warmness of mother love.
The painter is a good psychologist that is why the portraits
of contemporaries in historical decorations performed
by Litvinov look natural, everyone is portraited in
appropriate suits and interior. Alex executes multifigured
compositions depicting subjects of old legends
and myths.
